Guidelines for Parents

  • Through a school can do a lot for a child, it cannot do everything. The home is the place where he/she gets first education and training in citizenship. It is the chief place where his/her character is formed and developed. School education indeed promotes the growth of personality and helps to discover and develop the qualities that are in the child. In order to secure all that is best in the education of the child, maximum co-operation between the parent and the school authorities is necessary.
  • The school desires to have your co-operation and close contact with the teachers of the child in order to develop an atmosphere that is conducive to better and more effective education. This diary is one of the links which bridges the home and the school. It is an effective medium for parent teacher contact.
  • Personal memo page in duplicate should be carefully filled in by the parent at the beginning of the academic session. Change of residence should be notified to the school office immediately.
  • Parents are requested to look into the school diary daily and see that lessons and home work assigned for the next day are done. Remarks made by teacher/school authority should be seen and counter-signed regularly.
  • Your child should be encouraged to cultivate habitual cleanliness in all work.
  • Absence of your child from class for attending social functions is discouraged because it retards the child’s progress and minimizes his/her interest in regular school work.
  • Children should do their home work by themselves. They should not be helped in it by parents or by tutors unless they really need it. It is important that the children develop a habit of studying and working on their own.
  • Criticism of staff should be avoided in the presence of the child because it undermines his/her respect for the staff and the school. Should you have a legitimate complaint, please meet the principal/Vice principal or Headmistress.
  • Giving presents to the staff or other demonstration of gratitude or goodwill in their honour is not allowed.
  • Parents are not allowed to see their children or meet the teacher during school hour.
  • As the medium of instruction is English, children should be helped to follow their classer easily by a certain amount of regular conversation in this language at home.
  • Please see that your ward carries text/exercise books according to the time table for that day. No extra books are allowed.
  • Kindly ensure that he/she prepare for test and examination.
  • Encourage your ward to take a balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
  • Your ward should be instructed to be careful about his/her possessions. There should be name tag on blazers and sweaters. Expensive articles should not be brought to school.
  • If your ward is absent from school, he/she must make up for all the work he/she has missed.
